Well, it seems no matter who you are and no matter how legitimate your achievements are, there's always someone lurking in the shadows ready to cut you down at your peak (otherwise known as 'Tall Poppy Syndrome'). For those of you who haven't been following the Sydney Morning Herald's muck-racking articles for the past few days, I'll give you a brief synopsis: Steve Baker, creator of the Tropfest winning short AN IMAGINARY LIFE has been unjustly accused of swiping his idea from a US cartoon series FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS, a series that Baker did not know about until becoming a finalist well after completing the film (and one I myself had never heard of before now for that matter)... READ MORE Posted February 20, 2007. I find myself gushing with pride this week as old TAFE chum Steve Baker takes away the top prize at Tropfest 2007 for his animated film AN IMAGINARY LIFE. Just updated the site again, with new book titles including part 1 of the new Octavius O'Malley series by Alan Sunderland and an interview with Ben Redlich and author Mark Svendsen about Circus Carnivore. Posted December 15, 2005. The website is currently undergoing a major update. Among the many additions is a gallery of artwork from books in development and a heap of newly added book reviews. Enjoy! Four or more years of persistent work had finally come to an end when this book was finally released this year in June.
